Terms of Service & Privacy
One document. What the software is, what you get when you buy a plan, and how we handle your information under the Australian Privacy Principles.
RapidSiteplan (rapidsiteplan.au), last updated 2 November 2026
1. What RapidSiteplan is
RapidSiteplan is an online tool that produces site plans for domestic building projects (patios, carports, sheds, decking, pergolas, garages, fences and pools) from official cadastral records and aerial imagery, combined with the details you draw and the measurements you enter.
2. Design software — you check the details
RapidSiteplan is DESIGN SOFTWARE, not a measurement or certification service. Lot boundaries shown and printed are sourced from government cadastral data and are indicative only — they are not a legal boundary survey and must not be used as the basis of true boundary location. We recommend a licensed cadastral surveyor wherever exact boundary position matters. Always confirm measurements ON SITE; original house plans can be requested from your council's building records to verify dimensions. You are responsible for the accuracy of every measurement you enter and for checking and adjusting the details of your plan before using it.
3. Your licence to plans
When you purchase (or generate under an organisation account or trial) a site plan, you receive a non-exclusive licence to use, print and lodge that plan for the property it was created for. A plan is locked to one property. Unlimited edits and re-downloads remain available for that property under your account. Removing a plan deletes it permanently: it leaves every list, its share link stops working, it cannot be brought back, and it still counts as used, so nothing is refunded or returned to an allowance.
4. Our intellectual property
The RapidSiteplan software, brand, drawing styles, output layouts and this website are © RapidSiteplan. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, scrape, resell or white-label the service or its outputs except as these terms allow, and you may not systematically extract data from the service.
You may not use bots, scripts, scrapers, headless browsers or AI agents to copy, extract or systematically collect the service's code, network calls, data or outputs, and you may not use any part of the service to train, test or build another product, unless we have agreed to it in writing (for example under an API licence). Our public guides and council pages are free to read, link to and cite.
5. Accounts and acceptable use
Who can hold an account: RapidSiteplan is for business use by people who are 18 or over; by opening an account you confirm both.
You must provide accurate account details and keep your password private. Accounts are for the account holder; organisations may invite their own team and clients under their organisation. We may suspend accounts used to attack, overload, probe or misuse the service, or to breach these terms.
6. Approvals are not guaranteed
Site plans produced here follow the drawing conventions commonly accepted by Australian councils and private certifiers, but acceptance is always the decision of the assessing authority. Nothing in the service is planning, engineering, legal or certification advice. Compliance indicators (setbacks, coverage, hazard overlays) are aids based on public data and data-entered rules — confirm requirements with your certifier or council.
Site condition readings are indicative. Where the service shows a wind class, a bushfire attack level (BAL) or an atmospheric corrosivity category, it is reading public mapping and elevation data at the positions you drew, and it shows you the inputs and the source of each line so they can be checked. Such a reading is not a BAL assessment, BAL certificate, corrosivity assessment or determination under AS 3959, AS 4312, AS 4055 or any other standard, and it does not replace the site assessment a state, a council or your certifier requires, which in several states may only be made by an accredited person. Mapping can be out of date, vegetation grows or is cleared, slopes are read from elevation models, and where the published data is coarser than the standard the service shows a range rather than a figure. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you draw, including the position of the house and the structure the distances are measured from. We do not reproduce the standards; you obtain them from Standards Australia where you need them. The bushfire report the service produces is an indicative pre-assessment prepared from that mapping and imagery, it is not a certification, and a competent person confirms it before it is relied on.
The Site Exposure API. Where we issue an API key for the Site Exposure API, it is issued under a separate written agreement that sets the fee and the call quotas for that subscriber. The API returns the same indicative readings, under the same limits, as the paragraph above: they are not assessments, certificates or determinations under any standard, and they carry no warranty that a property is fit for a particular purpose or design. The subscriber may not resell or redistribute the raw responses as an assessment or as certified figures, must keep the key secret, and is responsible for everything done under it. Readings from the API that are shown to a person carry the RapidSiteplan name or mark beside them with a link to our site, and the attribution block in every response is a condition of the key and may not be removed. We may suspend or revoke a key for non-payment, for breach of that agreement or for abuse of the service. Quotas, routes and response fields may change; a breaking change is issued as a new API version.
7. Payments, access and refunds
What you purchase is access to design software, delivered instantly, not a physical product and not a drafting service. Single plans and other one-off purchases are paid once. Subscriptions are paid monthly, as set out below. Stripe, a third-party payment provider, processes every payment; we never see or store card details. Because access is granted the moment payment completes, we do not offer change-of-mind refunds, and this is stated on the payment page before you pay. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including a remedy for a major failure, are not affected by this.
Subscriptions: professional plans and the all-states add-on are monthly subscriptions. Each renews automatically every month, on the day of the month you started, and the same price is charged to your card until you cancel. The price and the renewal are shown before you pay, on the payment page and in your receipt. You can cancel a plan or the all-states add-on any time in Settings, Billing, without contacting us. Cancelling stops the next charge. Your subscription keeps working to the end of the month you have paid for, then stops, and the plans you generated stay on your account. We do not refund part of a month when you cancel; your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected. A live subscription keeps the price it started on. If we ever need to change it, we will email you at least 30 days before the renewal it applies to, so you can cancel first. Closing your account stops every subscription from renewing.
Our access guarantee: for at least SIX (6) MONTHS from purchase, each property you unlock lets you generate its site plan drawing and make unlimited edits and re-downloads — and this remains true through software updates and bug fixes. If a temporary fault ever interrupts the service, your plan data is retained and your access resumes when it is restored; a temporary fault does not end your licence or your guarantee period. After six months we aim to keep plans available indefinitely, but only the six months is guaranteed.
Nothing in these terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law: if the service has a major failure that we cannot remedy, you are entitled to the remedies that law provides. The assisted design service is drawn from the measurements and documents YOU supply; you must check the delivered plan.5 revision rounds are included free within 14 days of delivery, on every request, including a free one during a trial. Corrections of our own errors are always free and do not count as a round. Further change requests are charged at the published revision rate (currently $25 per round). Plans you draw and edit yourself carry no revision charges. Organisation accounts are billed per the organisation agreement, which prevails over these consumer terms for organisation use. Billing questions: billing@rapidsiteplan.au.
What the assisted design service costs: A$75 if you hold an unused plan credit, and that credit is used; A$150 in one payment if you do not, with the plan included. On an active Professional plan it is A$50 per request and uses one plan from that month's allowance; once the month's allowance is used, an extra plan you hold is used at that price, and with none the A$150 price applies. A request for a property already on your account does not use a second plan. The price that applies to you is shown before you send a request. Organisation accounts are billed under their agreement.
Free assistance during a trial: at present, assistance is free during a trial, up to a limit of requests per trial, and each request uses one of the trial's plans. It is a goodwill offer, not part of the trial's terms: we may change or end it at any time without notice. It does not apply to a request sent after the trial ends, after its plans are used, or past that limit, and then the normal price above applies.
7A. Pre-Purchase Site Report (proposed, for owner and lawyer review)
What it is: a report on one Australian address, put together from public sources as at the date and time printed on it. The sources read are listed in the report. It is general information. It is indicative only and may be out of date or incomplete, and you need to verify anything you plan to rely on before you rely on it.
What it is not: it is not legal, planning, engineering, valuation, financial or conveyancing advice. It is not a survey, a title search, a building or pest inspection, a planning certificate or a seller disclosure, and it does not read the title.
What its answers mean: a clear or not found result only means nothing was found in the sources read. It does not mean the thing is not there. Not read means the answer is unknown, and no mapping here means no public map was available to read.
The build check: what the report says about a granny flat, shed, garage, carport, patio, pool or subdivision is no promise of approval. It uses the rules and mapping we hold at a typical size. The council, the certifier and the water company decide.
Underground services: pipes and manholes are indicative, drawn from public data that can be missing, old or out of place. Use Before You Dig Australia before digging.
Contaminated land and asbestos (for lawyer review): where a report says a lot appears on a public list, it means only that: it appears on this public list, check with the regulator. A list does not say how serious a thing is or that it is still there. A miss means nothing was found on that list. It does not mean the land is clean or that a home is free of asbestos.
Modelled flood figures (for lawyer review): a depth is on the ground, not above a floor, and a level is the water surface, not a depth. Either is a model at the date shown, not a forecast, a council certificate or an insurance quote. Some are the publisher's draft and say so. No figure does not mean the land cannot flood.
Area and public record figures: if a report shows crime, school or sale figures, they are area or public record data. They are not a judgement of any property or person.
Links to other providers: where the report links to a search you buy from someone else, that purchase and its fees are between you and that provider. We take no commission and add no markup.
Data licences: the data remains its publishers'. The report names each publisher and its licence where the publisher gives one.
Your use: the report is for your personal use, for the one address you bought it for. You may not resell or republish it, and scraping or automated use of the report or the search is not allowed.
Price and supply: the price is A$24.99 at present, as shown on the page before you pay. No GST is charged. The report is a digital supply: it starts when your payment completes and you can open it again on your account. An account is required to buy one.
Refunds and your rights: we do not give change-of-mind refunds. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including the consumer guarantees and any refund, replacement or other remedy you are entitled to under them.
Liability: we limit our liability for a report only as far as the law allows. The consumer guarantees are not affected, and we do not try to exclude them.
8. Privacy
This is the privacy policy of RapidSitePlan (ABN 72 389 512 376), and we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What we collect and why: your account email and name, and the business details you add, such as your phone, ABN and logo; the addresses, measurements, sketches and plans you create or upload (needed to provide the service); payment records (Stripe takes the payment, and we never see or store card numbers); the Terms you accept or the confidentiality agreement you sign; and usage records (sign-in time, IP address and the country it comes from, browser and device string, browser errors on signed-in pages, plans generated, exports) used for support, security, fraud prevention and billing; how you reached us (the page you first landed on, the site that sent you and any code or link you used), kept in your browser from your first visit and saved with your account when you create one, so we can see which pages and links bring people in; and messages you send us through our contact and support forms, which we keep so we can act on them and keep a record of the request. We collect it from you, except where this policy names another source: a sign-in through Google or Apple, a people book entry another user makes, and a business address read from that business's own website.
Pre-Purchase Site Reports (proposed, for owner and lawyer review): when you buy a report, the address you searched, the report and the purchase are kept with your account so you can open it again. The free search is counted against your IP address and your account for a few days to limit automated use, and what it found for an address is kept without your name.
Cookies, local storage and analytics: essential cookies and local storage keep you signed in and hold your plan. RapidSiteplan itself does this with your browser's local storage and sets no cookies of its own; the payment page (Stripe) and the person check (Cloudflare) may set their own security cookies when you reach them. While you are signed out, our public pages also run Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. They record the pages read, where people click and scroll, and where visits come from, and Clarity keeps recordings of visits that we can play back. Clarity masks what you type into a form. Both set their own cookies and hold that data outside Australia, in the United States. Neither runs while you are signed in, or in the RapidSiteplan app on a phone or tablet. To switch both off, untick Analytics in the cookie notice (Cookie preferences, at the foot of every public page) or in Settings, Security, Cookie preferences; the choice is kept in that browser. When you pay, our server tells Google Analytics the amount, the currency and the product, and nothing that names you, whatever the switch says. If analytics was on when you signed up, that report carries the Google Analytics id your browser had then, so we can see which visits lead to a sale; otherwise it carries a code made from your account that does not name you. No advertising, and we do not sell or trade personal information.
Emails: we send the account and billing emails you need and, now and then, product news. New accounts get news only when the box for it is ticked at sign-up. If you sign up for the monthly email on a guide or the About page without an account, we keep your email address, the page you signed up on, and when you asked and confirmed, and we send nothing but the confirmation link until you open it. Every news email and every referral email has a one-click unsubscribe that works at once, or write to info@rapidsiteplan.au. We keep a copy of every email we send in our own mailbox.
Writing to businesses: we write to trade businesses about RapidSiteplan only where the Spam Act 2003 allows it, at the contact address a business publishes on its own website for its work and about that work, or at an address it gave us itself. We read those addresses from the businesses' own websites and do not buy lists. Each email names us with our ABN, says where we found the address and carries a one-click unsubscribe, and we may send the same message once through the contact form on the business's website. We keep the business's name, website and address, the emails we sent, which links in them were clicked, and the replies, which our system reads from our mailbox. A business we wrote to stays on our list, marked, so it is not written to twice. An unsubscribe stays on record, so that address is not written to again.
Sharing a plan: when you share a plan, the link is view-only: anyone holding it can look at and download that plan but cannot change anything or reach your account. The link stays live until you remove the plan, which disables it.
Your people book: the business details you enter for the certifiers, engineers, geotechnical consultants and town planners you work with (company, contact name, mobile, email, ABN, fees and the councils they serve) are held by RapidSiteplan and shown only to you and, for an organisation, its administrators. RapidSiteplan may contact those businesses about working with us, except those in an organisation's people book (section 11 of the Terms). You confirm you may share their business details with us. If your business is in the people book of a RapidSiteplan user and you want your details removed, or do not want to hear from us, email info@rapidsiteplan.au.
Corrections that teach our tracing: when you correct a roof line or an outline that RapidSiteplan traced or drew for you, we keep a small record of the change: the shape before and after, the source and capture date of the map picture, the area it covered, the state, council and lot reference, and the kind of structure. It holds no names, emails or photos. We use these records, and the plans and measurements you make, only to run, measure and improve our own tools, such as automatic tracing and drawing help, so they draw closer to what a person would. They are never sold or shared. They are erased with your account. Section 11 of the Terms sets a stricter rule for organisation accounts. To have the corrections from your account deleted, email info@rapidsiteplan.au.
Signs of automated access: to protect the service, we record signs of automated access, such as a browser that reports it is driven by automation software or a request to an address our app never calls, with the network address, browser details, page and time, against the account that was signed in, if any. Nothing is blocked or slowed by this record.
When the app fails: we keep a short record of the error and the last steps taken in the app (which buttons were pressed and which screens were open, never what was typed) for thirty days to fix the fault.
Automated decisions: none of our software makes a decision with a legal or similarly significant effect on you by itself. The figures a plan reads, such as setbacks, site cover, the wind class and the bushfire level, are indications for you and your certifier, and a person at RapidSiteplan decides refunds, account closures and partner applications.
Who handles your information for us: a small number of service providers, each under contract, run parts of RapidSiteplan for us.
- Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage, which hold your account, plans and uploads (hosted in Sydney, Australia).
- Netlify: serves our pages from its worldwide network, from the place nearest you, and runs our server functions in the United States. It sees your internet address and the country it comes from.
- Stripe: takes payments, runs subscriptions and keeps its own payment records.
- Our email host: sends and receives our email (DreamIT Host, an Australian provider).
- Google: when you choose Sign in with Google, Google confirms who you are and passes us your name and email. Google also runs Google Analytics on our public pages and holds our inbox at Gmail, where the mail sent to our addresses and a copy of each email we send arrive.
- Apple: confirms who you are in the same way when you choose Sign in with Apple, where we offer it.
- Microsoft: runs Clarity on our public pages.
- Cloudflare: the check on our sign-up, sign-in and other forms that tells people from bots. It sees your internet address and browser details, and may set its own cookie.
Supabase holds our database, files and plans in Sydney, Australia, and DreamIT Host sends and receives our email in Australia. Netlify serves our pages from its worldwide network and runs our server functions in the United States. Stripe, Google, Microsoft and Cloudflare process data in the United States and the other countries where they run their services, and Stripe also in the country where a payment settles. We take reasonable steps to make sure each handles it consistently with the APPs.
Map pictures and property data come from government mapping services, Esri and, where your organisation connects one, its own aerial imagery provider. Some map pictures load straight into your browser, so those servers see your internet address and the map area, as any website would; our server asks for the rest. None of them gets your name or email. The administrators of an organisation see the usage of that organisation and its clients. RapidSiteplan can see across the service to run and support it, and each time we open the screens of an account to help, the look is logged. We disclose personal information otherwise only where the law requires it.
How we protect it: encrypted connections only, database rules that keep each account and organisation to its own data, two-step sign-in for anyone who turns it on, and access limited to the people who need it to run the service. When we no longer need personal information, we delete it or take the name and email off it, on the timetable below.
Data breaches: we follow the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act — if a breach likely to result in serious harm occurs, we will notify affected account holders and the OAIC promptly, with what happened, what information was involved and what we are doing about it.
How long we keep it:
- Your account: your details, plans, uploads, sign-in history and messages, while the account is open. A plan you bought stays at least six months from its purchase, as section 7 sets out, unless you remove it or delete your account first.
- A deleted account: erased 14 days after you delete it, as set out under Deleting your account below.
- Invoices, payment records and signed agreements: seven years, as tax and contract law need, with your name and email taken off them when your account is erased.
- Records of the app failing: 30 days.
- Businesses we have not written to: removed from our list after 12 months.
- Our emails to businesses: the emails and form messages we sent, the clicks on their links and the replies, removed after 24 months.
- Unsubscribes and deletions: an unsubscribe stays on record so we do not write to that address again; once you delete what we hold, only a one-way code made from the address stays, for the same reason.
- Analytics: kept by Google and Microsoft for the periods their services set.
See, download or delete what we hold: with an account, open Settings, Security, Your data, where View my data shows everything we hold about your account and Download my data gives it to you as a file, at any time. Anyone, with an account or without, can use Your information: type your email address, and if we hold anything under it, our system sends a one-time link to that address straight away. The link works for an hour and opens a page with everything held under that address, a download of it, and two buttons: one stops all email to the address, the other deletes what we hold. The system answers by itself, without waiting for us. You can also write to info@rapidsiteplan.au, and we answer within 30 days. Deleting cannot shorten the records we must keep for payment, tax, agreement or dispute purposes, and an account itself is deleted under Settings, Security, as set out below.
Correction and complaints: to correct your details, change them in Settings, or write to info@rapidsiteplan.au from the address concerned and we correct them, or tell you why not, within 30 days. If you believe we have mishandled your information, complain to us first at info@rapidsiteplan.au; if it is not resolved, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Deleting your account: in the RapidSiteplan app or on the website, go to Settings, Security, Delete my account. The account closes at once and any subscription stops renewing. After 14 days we erase your details, your own plans and uploads, your sign-in history and the help threads you started. Plans made for an organisation stay with it, and what you wrote in other people's jobs and threads stays there with your name taken off. Invoices, payment records and signed agreements are kept for 7 years, as tax and contract law need, with your name and email taken off them. Cannot sign in? Email info@rapidsiteplan.au from the address on your account and we close it for you.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law guarantees which are not excluded), our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the plan concerned, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including building costs, delays or decisions made in reliance on indicative data. Wind classifications and site wind figures are derived to AS 4055 and the AS/NZS 1170.2 method from official public mapping and the site factors shown on the plan; structural adequacy of any design remains the responsibility of the party certifying it. The same applies to every other site condition the service derives, including bushfire attack levels and atmospheric corrosivity categories: they are indicative readings of public mapping, not assessments, certificates or determinations under AS 3959, AS 4312 or any other standard, and we accept no liability for construction, material or siting decisions made on them without the assessment the law or the certifier requires.
10. General
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. We may update them; material changes will be notified in-app. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Questions: info@rapidsiteplan.au.
11. Data processing for organisations
These terms apply when a business uses RapidSiteplan under an organisation account. They sit beside your organisation agreement; where the two differ on personal information, the stricter one applies.
Your data, our job. Organisation data is the personal information your organisation puts into RapidSiteplan: your team's accounts, your clients' names, emails, phone numbers and addresses, your jobs, plans, documents and messages, and your people book. You decide what goes in and why. We handle organisation data only to provide RapidSiteplan to you, on your instructions: these terms, your organisation agreement and what your administrators do in the app.
What we use it for. To run, secure, support and bill the service, and to meet the law. We never sell it, never use it to market to your clients, and never contact your clients ourselves, except to deliver what your team sends through the service, such as a plan link or a job pack.
No training. We do not use organisation data to train AI or machine-learning models, ours or anyone else's. No correction drawn in your organisation's account is used to improve our tracing unless your organisation switches that on in Settings; until that switch arrives, none is.
Our people. Only people who need organisation data to run or support the service can reach it, and they keep it confidential. When we open your organisation's screens to help you, the look is logged.
Providers. We use the providers listed in section 8 to host, store, send and take payments, each under contract. We email your administrators at least 30 days before we add a provider that will handle organisation data. If you object and we cannot resolve it, you may end the organisation agreement without penalty.
Where it is held. With the providers in section 8. Where a provider processes data outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Security. Encrypted connections only, database rules that keep each organisation to its own data, logged staff access, and two-step sign-in for your team. You keep your team's sign-ins safe and remove people who leave.
Breaches. If we become aware of a breach that affects organisation data, we tell your administrators without undue delay, and within 72 hours where we can, with what happened, what data is involved and what we are doing. We work with you on any notice the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
Requests from people. If one of your clients or staff asks us for access to, correction of or deletion of their information in your organisation data, we pass the request to you and act on your instructions, unless the law requires otherwise.
Return and deletion. When you ask, or within 90 days after your organisation account closes, we delete organisation data, except records the law makes us keep (payment, tax and signed agreement records, kept up to 7 years with names and emails removed, as section 8 says). Before that, your administrators can ask us for a copy.
Questions and checks. Once a year we answer a reasonable security questionnaire from you. We hold no security certification and do not claim one. Organisation data questions: info@rapidsiteplan.au.
Partners. A partner is a manufacturer or supplier whose own software opens RapidSiteplan for its customers through keys we issue to the partner's organisation. The plans those customers draw are the customers' own and stay under this policy; the partner receives only what its integration asks for and the customer agreed to, and each sheet carries the marks Powered by RapidSiteplan and Published by the partner. If a data breach touches a partner's customers, we notify the organisation that holds the keys as well as the people affected.
